Morning Routine: A short poem

A short Poem: Morning Routine

Early morning

slipper hushed stair,

Kettle warming,

Hungry cats glare

Shrug on coat,

Nightie Rustle,

jobs to do,

Welly Boots shuffle

Through the morning dew,

Tramline tracks

egg stuffed pockets

And "let me out" Quacks

kettle boils

whistle sounds

"come down" the troops

two step bounds

Steaming tea

Biscuit crumbs

Butter melting

on hot cross buns

Cats as blankets

Affront the Aga

Warming backside

Dripping Barbour.
