Welcome! I'm so very glad you're here. After spending over 15 years navigating the fast-paced world of the London rat race, my husband and I decided it was time for a change. The city, with its relentless hustle and bustle, had been our home for many years, but deep down I always felt a longing for something more fulfilling, serene and a slower pace. Whilst pregnant with our son, Raef, we made the move to Mulberry House.
However, we were still close enough to work in London, but now surrounded by nature and reminded of the best bits of our youth. A metamorphosis began… perhaps accelerated by ‘lockdown’ (the global Coronavirus pandemic) combined with maternity leave with my daughter India.
Here, amidst the fields, animals and endless greenery the countryside didn't just bring me closer to nature; it also rekindled my creative spirit. I've embraced my long lived passion for interior design, turning my house into a home that reflects my love for rustic charm and elegant "something". Every room tells a story, blending old-world character with some modern comfort, and I find immense joy in creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional.
This flowed into the garden around us and the extra time we all found in the glorious weather of 2020 amidst the dark clouds of isolation. We took to growing vegetables, finding solace in nurturing flowers and growing spuds, took notice of the animals wandering amongst us and embraced our own little flock of egg-laying feathered friends. We saw the previously overlooked magical every day.
Storytelling has always been a part of who I am, whether it's through writing, short films on Instagram, or interior design for my clients, I love connecting with others and bringing a bit of magic, happiness and inspiration into their lives. For the last 8 years we have slowly built a magical world at Mulberry House, expanding our family, building on a narrative that feels authentic to us, filled with the romanticism, passion and magic of my creative endeavours.
My wish is for you to open these pages and step inside a magical world of English Country living, to be swept away into a world where everyday moments gain a new sense of appreciation, inspiration and joy. It’s a modern day take on whimsical & nostalgic family life into which the reader can escape. Here you’ll find simple ways to inspire your own magical discovery - recipes, flowers, fashion and practical design tips.
Thank you for taking the time to dream - I wish for you to find your own magic and to embrace a world where we are simpler, more sustainable and happier so that we cultivate a world for our children to inherit, that they may in turn grow, blossom and create.
